Ford Creates Rock, Punk & Retiree Snowmen

Ford's U.S. design teams went wild with snowmen in a unique holiday challenge this past November. Nine groups had fun constructing one-of-a-kind snowmen using Styrofoam, props and of course lots of creativity. As you can imagine, the brains behind Ford's innovatively designed vehicles came up with some awesome concepts.

The crew responsible for Ford's vehicle animations whipped up a steam-punker snowman with camera-lens eyes, while the designers who create Ford's vehicle interiors produced a trio of snowmen on an open sleigh. Check out the photos below to see these and other designs, all of which…

Soon the Grid & Your Plug-in Electric Car will Chit-Chat

Right now, Ford is working with utility and electric power companies around the world to develop a technology that would allow the grid to send messages to plug-in electric cars via the cloud, requesting them to stop charging when electricity use is peaking. That means one day you could qualify for a financial incentive by allowing your utility company to "talk" to your Ford Fusion Hybrid, for example. The program would not only offer monetary benefits to green car owners, but would also benefit the grid during times of high power usage.

The technology, which enables two-way communication between plug-in…

See the heart-stopping video below.

Spectators caught in the trajectory of the car were incredibly lucky that they weren't hurt, though the vehicle didn't fare so well after flipping 360…

"Motor City Masters," a popular reality series on TruTV, is a spinoff of "Project Runway," but for car designers. If you missed the show's recent finale, Camilo Pardo, a former Ford designer and the man behind the design of the 2005-2006 Ford GT, was crowned the winner!
