What's New for the 2026 Ford Mustang?

For the most part, the 2026 Ford Mustang remains essentially unchanged. Rather than sweeping updates, Ford focused on a few trim-specific adjustments and tweaks to available packages so buyers can better personalize their Mustang. It still stands out for easy-to-use, performance-minded tech displays. The car accelerates strongly, corners well, and its interior offers more space than many rivals.

What Are the 2026 Mustang Trims & Features?

You can get the 2026 Ford Mustang in one of six trim levels.

The entry-level Mustang is the EcoBoost. Standard equipment includes LED headlights and 17-inch wheels. A dual exhaust system comes standard for looks and performance. The EcoBoost also features keyless entry and dual-zone climate control. Cloth upholstery is standard, while a leather-wrapped gear shifter adds refinement. Connectivity includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 13.2-inch touchscreen, and a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel.

The EcoBoost Premium steps up to synthetic-leather seats and ambient cabin lighting. It includes a heated steering wheel and heated/ventilated front seats. This trim also gains an upgraded audio system, proximity-activated exterior lights, and power-adjustable mirrors.

The GT adds a functional hood vent, larger brake rotors, and trim-specific styling cues.

GT Premium contains all GT features plus larger 19-inch wheels.

The Dark Horse moves the lineup into higher performance with engine oil coolers, a B&O audio system, bespoke 19-inch wheels, an active exhaust, and exclusive styling and badges.

The Dark Horse Premium enhances the Dark Horse for track use - about 500 hp from its 5.0L V8 (available with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic), MagneRide® dampers, Brembo® brakes, heavy-duty engine/transmission/diff coolers, and optional Handling Package and RECARO® seats for serious drivers.
