What's New For the 2020 Ford Expedition?

In 2020, the Ford Expedition gets some changes that are effective across the board, but it gets some changes that are trim-specific as well. This year, Ford is proud to announce that all trim levels of the Expedition are now outfitted with more safety technology than before. Along with advanced airbags and seat belts, each trim level now also gets Ford's Co-Pilot360 safety technology with innovative safety features that are designed to prevent an accident before disaster strikes.

This forward-thinking package includes forward collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and more. Trailer tow monitoring is available as an option for select trims. Along with these changes across the board, you can expect some trim-specific differences as well.

For the first time, the King Ranch can be ordered in two body styles. One is a regular-length configuration, while the other is an extended-length version. This year, the XLT trims can be ordered with a special Black Accent package that features a unique exterior trim and all-black body paint color.

What Features are Available for 2020?

This year, you'll find the same trim lineup for the Ford Expedition as before, but with some differences that come standard and available across the board. There are still four trims available in the Expedition in the 2020 model year. The lineup starts with the XLT, which is the base trim. On the outside, the XLT is distinguishable by its prominent 18-inch wheels and sharp-looking exterior with chrome accents. This trim has three rows of bench-style seating for eight.

Along with spacious and versatile seats, it also has a standard eight-inch infotainment system that has voice-activated technology and user-friendly design. Next up is the Limited. This trim adds the works with larger 20-inch wheels, a more robust sound system with 12 speakers, more comfortable and luxurious leather seats, and trim-specific badges and accent stitching.

The King Ranch upgrades to 22-inch wheels and an adaptive suspension system. The Platinum tops it off with exquisite satin-aluminum exterior trim detailing, power running boards, and an exclusive engine. Active noise control, a wood-trimmed interior, and power-folding seats are also standard features.
