What's New For the 2020 Ford Edge?

The Edge, one of the most popular Ford SUVs, is back and better than ever in 2020. This model year is part of the vehicle's second generation, which first hit the market in 2015. The Edge received a pretty dramatic refresh last year but still made a few tweaks for 2020. First, dual-zone automatic climate control is now standard for all trim levels. The Titanium trim level gains an Elite package. With this, the Edge gets red accent stitching as well as Brunello door inserts. There are also several new exterior paint colors. New options include Iconic Silver, Atlas Blue, and Dark Persian Green.

2020 Ford Edge Interior

2020 Ford Edge Comes with an Amazing Array of Features

Drivers have four exciting trim choices to choose from in 2020. First up is the SE. It has the Sync 3 infotainment system that features smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All of this is displayed on a crisp 8" screen. Also standard on this trim are 18" wheels, dual USB ports, reclining rear seats, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Moving up to the SEL trim will get drivers leather on the steering wheel as well as power-adjustment for the driver's seat. The Titanium trim is full of luxury. It gains heated seats, ambient lights, a power hands-free liftgate, more speakers, and navigation. It also has comfortable and stylish sport seats. Finally, the ST trim is available for those seeking an athletic SUV. The interior has a sports theme, and the seats combine leather and suede.

2020 Ford Edge Powertrain and its Performance

2020 Ford EdgeTwo engines are available to drivers underneath the hood of the new Edge. Standard is a turbo 2.0L four-cylinder that will generate 250-horsepower as well as 275 lb-ft of torque. This is combined with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. For the ST trim, the Edge is powered by a 2.7L V6. With this, the Edge is capable of 335-horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. It works well with the same eight-speed transmission. Most models are front-wheel-drive standard with the option of upgrading to all-wheel-drive. The top-of-the-line ST trim is only available with all-wheel-drive.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

2020 Ford EdgeSafety features are plentiful in all versions of the new 2020 Ford Edge. Included on each and every model are useful driver aids such as lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic, and forward-collision warning that uses automatic emergency braking. Available on the SEL and standard on the trims above it are adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has already awarded the 2020 Edge with a crash rating of five out of five stars.
