What's New For The 2019 Ford Super Duty?

The Ford Super Duty truck series has a couple of refreshes and upgrades for the 2019 model year. Starting off, the overall weight has been reduced thanks to its high-strength military-grade aluminum alloy body. The chassis is now stronger than ever as well as its frame. The Super Duty lineup also has a higher towing and hauling rating for the 2019 model year, adding to its "best in class" numbers.

Six Strong Trim Variants for 2019

The Super Duty is available in the F-250, F-350 and F-450 models. Within each of these models, there are six trims available - XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Limited and Platinum. Altogether, there are a total of 18 trims available in the line-up. The base XL trim offers the following key features: Quad-Dual Beam Halogen Headlamps, Pickup Box and Cargo Area Lights, Manual Telescoping Trailer Tow with Manual Glass Mirrors, Manual Temperature Control Air Conditioning, Black Vinyl Floor Covering, and a 2.3-inch Productivity Screen.

The XLT offers many features found on the XL trim plus: Chrome Bar-Style Grille, Manual Telescoping Trailer Tow with Power Heated Glass Mirrors, Premium AM/FM Stereo, (4 Speakers Regular Cab, 6 Speakers Super Cab and Crew Cab),.and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The Lariat trim features many of the features found on the XLT trim plus Body Color Door Handles, Fog Lamps, Chrome 2-Bar-Style with Chrome Insert Grille, Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control Air Conditioning, Power Adjustable Pedals, and 8-inch Productivity Screen.

The King Ranch offers many of the features found on the Lariat trim plus Accent-Color Rear with Step Pad Front and Rear Bumpers, 6-inch Illuminated Accent-Color with Bright Insert Cab Steps, Quad-Dual Beam Halogen Headlamps, Unique King Ranch® Mesa Brown Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel and Unique King Ranch® Kingsville Antique Affect Leather Bucket Seating Surfaces.

The top-of-the-line Limited trim offers many features found on the Platinum trim plus Satin Chrome Bar-Style Grille, Power Moonroof, Lane-Keeping Alert System, Rear View Camera - Center High Mounted Stop Light (CHMSL) Camera, and Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (Includes 360 Camera Plus Rear CHMSL Camera).

Which Powertrains Come Standard?

The Super Duty has two capable V-8 powertrains available for the 2019 model year. The standard 6.2-Liter SOHC 2-Valve Flex Fuel V8 Engine offers up to 385 horsepower and 430 foot pounds of torque. For those looking for the ultimate powertrain, there is the optional 6.7-Liter Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel Engine that offers up to 440 horsepower and an incredible 925 foot-pounds of torque. The Diesel engine is able to tow up to 21,000 pounds with a conventional towing package.
