What's New For the 2021 Ford Explorer?

The Ford Explorer has seen many changes over the years, and the 2021 version has a few subtle alterations that make the vehicle more comfortable, convenient, and safe. Depending on what trim level you choose, you'll be able to enjoy some of the most innovative options on the market. The XLT trim level includes amenities like heated seats and a heated steering wheel. Both are perfect for winters in TX. Features like an eight-way power-adjustable seat come standard in the Limited, ST, and Platinum trim levels. A Sport Appearance Package from Ford is available on the XLT trim level. What Are the Ford Explorer Trims & Features?

Two base trim levels include a 4x2 and a 4x4. They have a 300-hp, 2.3-liter I-4 engine, and a ten-speed automatic transmission. The XLT trim comes in 4x2 and 4x4 as well. The powertrain is the same, but you get four-wheel disc brakes, brake assist, and four-wheel antilock braking technology. The Limited/Hybrid, ST, and Platinum trim levels include an upgraded B&O, 12-speaker sound system, upgraded 20-inch tires, and heated front seats. The front seats are power-adjustable.

What's Under the Hood of the Explorer?

You can expect quite a bit of performance from the 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged Explorer engine that achieves an impressive 300 horsepower. You can upgrade to the V6 turbocharged option with the Platinum model. You get 365 horsepower with that model. If you're interested in decreasing your carbon footprint, the hybrid model combines a 3.3-liter V6 engine along with a top-of-the-line electric motor to achieve 318 horsepower.
