Ford Will Launch New Battery Energy Storage Business  
 

Lisa Drake was recently named President of Ford Energy by Ford Motor Company. Reporting to Vice Chair John Lawler, Drake has already begun identifying key initiatives, including the rollout of the company's battery energy storage systems (BESS) business.

Ford's New Battery Energy Storage Business

It will be a landmark year for the newly appointed President of Ford Energy, Lisa Drake. She is tasked with managing every facet of the division, including cell production and commercial sales. According to John Lawler, Vice Chair of Ford Energy, "Lisa has a deep expertise in scaling complex industrial systems and securing critical supply chains. Her leadership is essential as we stand up Ford Energy to capture the growing demand for reliable battery energy storage that supports grid stability and resilience for utilities and large energy users."

With a background as Vice President of Technology Platform Programs and EV Systems, Drake is uniquely prepared for her current role. Her experience in purchasing and large-scale industrialization will be vital as Ford Energy grows. Regarding the business strategy, Drake said, "We're building a business focused first on utility-scale battery energy storage systems for large customers while also offering battery cells for residential energy storage solutions."
