Specs at a Glance
Substantial updates have made the 2025 Ford Maverick® an even more attractive small pickup. Beyond its reimagined styling, the latest Maverick® now boasts the upgraded SYNC 4 infotainment system. When shopping for a new Maverick®, buyers often weigh the XLT against the Lobo™ trim. Let's dive into how these two compare.
Performance
Standard on the Maverick® XLT is a 2.5L hybrid engine, making it one of the most efficient offerings in its segment. This powertrain is rated at a combined 191 horsepower by Ford. A continuously variable transmission further enhances fuel savings. For those seeking more power, the XLT can be optioned with a robust 2.0L EcoBoost engine producing 250 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available as an upgrade.
On the more performance-driven Maverick® Lobo™, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine comes standard. A specially tuned seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters adds to the Lobo™'s excitement. Ford designed the Lobo™ trim for sportier on-road handling, featuring a lowered suspension and a performance-tuned steering system. The Lobo™ also includes upgraded brakes and a torque-vectoring AWD system.
Appearance
For 2025, the XLT carries over the Maverick®'s refreshed design, complete with a revised front fascia and dark-tinted headlamp covers for added flair. Ford enhances the XLT's presence with 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels. Buyers can choose from several eye-catching exterior colors, including Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat.
The Maverick® Lobo™ projects a more aggressive street-truck image with its lowered stance and unique 19-inch black wheels. A distinctive grille further sets the Lobo™ apart from other trims, emphasizing its bolder design.
Features
A major selling point of the XLT trim is its updated SYNC 4 infotainment system, which includes a 13.2-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. Additional standard features include Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, in-bed cubby storage, and an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster.
Inside the Lobo™'s cabin, ActiveX seating with accent stitching stands out. Standard Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and an optional B&O premium audio system cater to both convenience and entertainment.
