Ford Performance NASCAR Cup Series driver Austin Cindric has been tapped to join the Ford Multimatic Motorsports team for the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona. He will be filling in for endurance driver Ben Barker, who sustained a broken collarbone in a skiing incident over the holidays. Cindric will partner with regular teammates Mike Rockenfeller and Sebastian Priaulx in the Ford Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT3.
This will be Cindric's sixth time competing in the Rolex 24, and he's optimistic that the Mustang GT3 will help him perform at a high level.
A native of Mooresville, NC, Cindric is a multi-race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series. One of his standout victories was the 2022 Daytona 500, where he drove a Team Penske Mustang to victory. Before his career in stock car racing, Cindric competed in numerous sports car racing series throughout the U.S. He's shown his driving skills in Ford development vehicles like the Mustang GT4 and has four Michelin Pilot Challenge starts at Daytona with Multimatic Motorsports, including a 2019 win alongside Priaulx at Road Atlanta.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Cindric's first race with Ford and Multimatic at Daytona, and the team is excited to have him back. Cindric is also eager to prepare for the race, which is set for January 26th.
