Is there anything more exciting than a new Ford Mustang? Ford recently unveiled a suite of new looks for the classic Mustang design at the Detroit Auto Show. The new designs are for the 2024 model year, and the reactions were instant and noticeable. People are psyched to see this new generation of Mustangs on the road and in action.
The Detroit Auto Show
While the whole rest of the auto world is turning to electric engines, the Mustang sticks to what it knows best: the gas-powered V8 engine. This makes good sense. Folks who choose the Mustang don't look forward to a time when roadways are silent and devoid of powerful engine noise. They love their muscle cars, loud and traditional.
Ford isn't shy about revealing its love of the traditional engine, and its fans aren't shy about applauding them for that. Electric vehicles usually fall on the higher end of the price range, and not everyone is ready to go there yet. Even more, there are qualities of gas-powered engines that couldn't be duplicated on an electric engine without making things artificial. Gas-powered engines are noisy and give Ford a good reason to design dual-chrome exhausts (a major quality of traditional vehicles).
Ford is fighting the winds of change, but they continue to put their all into the Mustang. Despite the fact that the 2021 model year was a disappointment in sales, they're doubling down on bringing back the magic of the Mustang. The 2024 Mustang will have new tech and new tricks up its sleeve. For example, "Remote Rev" lets Mustang owners rev up their vehicles remotely, something that could definitely bring a lot of fun into daily life. They're also inspired by the first 1960s grille of the Mustang, adding a touch of that old look to the new, upcoming model. There will be 11 engines to choose from and a "Dark Horse" edition that's heavily focused on track features.
