One might assume that most people know not to use “password” or “123456” for account logins, but unfortunately these overused passcodes keep recurring year after year. However, among them some more creative secret codes are being used more frequently. In fact, on SplashData’s recent list of the 25 most common passwords, one term came up that we’d put at the top of our password list - with our own special spin, of course!
SplashData’s list revealed that “Mustang” is the 16th most common password on the web, beating out others like “superman” at 21st place and “batman” at 24th place. If you decide to jump on the pony-car password bandwagon, just remember to include the term with your own unique set of symbols, numbers, acronyms, upper and lowercase characters, and/or additional letters to help strengthen your passcode, especially since the term “Mustang” is commonly used.
Mustang is the only car name that made it on the list of top passwords for 2014, indicating the incredible popularity of the car, which gained a lot of buzz over the past year for its full redesign.
