When the all-new 2016 Edge was revealed last year, critics were pleased by its muscular new look, abundance of new technologies, competitive pricing and new luxury trim level - Titanium. But a big piece of the puzzle was missing until now: fuel economy and power ratings.
Recently, Ford has released that data and we’ve got it here for you! Engines have been switched and revised, and a new engine has been added to the lineup. Just check out the following:
Last year’s base engine was a 3.5-liter V-6. This year, it’s a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with approximately 245 horsepower (more hp than last year’s optional turbo four-cylinder) and 270 lb.-ft. of torque.
Four-cylinder EPA fuel economy estimates: front-wheel-drive models get 20 city/30 hwy mpg and all-wheel-drive models get 20 city/28 hwy mpg
Last year’s standard engine, the 3.5-liter V-6, is now optional (yes, its position has been swapped with the four-cylinder in a first-ever move). The naturally aspirated V-6 delivers 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque.
2015 Ford Edge 3.5-liter V-6 fuel economy estimates: 18 city/26 hwy mpg with FWD and 17 city/25 hwy mpg with AWD
An all-new 2.7-liter turbo V-6 is offered on the 2015 Ford Edge Sport. Yep, it’s the same V-6 seen on the new F-150, but of course it’s tuned differently. The Edge Sport version provides 315 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft of torque, beating last year’s 3.7-liter V-6 which got 305 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque. Notice the huge jump in torque!
