Ford has just announced that it will be adding four more SUVs to its lineup in the coming years. This is exciting news, especially for fans of the Ford Bronco, which rumors suggest might be among the new models.
This latest move from Ford is in response to the growing number of Millennial drivers who are consistently choosing crossovers and SUVs as their new car of choice. And it’s not just the younger set, studies suggest that boomers will also begin to flock to the SUV segment, as they offer a larger cabin that is easier to get in and out of than say small sedans or coupes.
Along with the Bronco, the Ford Ranger and the Ecosport are also said to be a part of this new SUV lineup, but we don’t know for sure yet. We do except these models to boast even more fuel economy than their predecessors, thanks to current powertrain technology that has allowed even larger model cars to produce top-notch fuel numbers; a fact that both age groups can appreciate.
“Some SUVs now rival the fuel efficiency of V6-powered midsize sedans from only a few years ago,” said LaNeve, “and as baby boomers grew up with much less capable, much less efficient vehicles, they tend to appreciate the efficiency of Ford’s newest SUVs.”
