New Ford F-150 Receives Best-In-Class Recognitions

Just when you thought the new F-150 in Grand Prairie, Texas couldn’t get any better, it just did. For the 2018 model year, the tough truck receives a variety of enhancements that have helped it achieve best-in-class towing, payload and fuel efficiency.

Underneath the hood, you’ll find a brand-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost that is able to offers an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined, delivering best-in-class fuel economy. Additionally, the new truck near Dallas provides best-in-class towing (13,200 lbs.) and payload capacity (3,270 lbs.) thanks to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and improved 5.0-liter V8, respectively.

“The Ford F-150 lineup again delivers on its promise to give full-size truck customers even more value, functionality and smart technology innovations, with engines with best-in-class towing, payload and fuel economy,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager.

Other improvements include a new 10-speed automatic transmission that is matched to the 2.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8. Plus, every new F-150 comes with automatic start-stop ignition. We also expect to see a brand-new diesel-powered V6 turbocharger to make its debut later in 2018.
